Submitted by San Diego activists:
On Saturday night, May 8, about eight activists entered Neiman Marcus in Fashion Valley mall in San Diego to let Neiman Marcus know it’s time they join the growing list of retailers going fur free. Some of us entered the top level and others the bottom, converging on the second level of the store with sirens and bullhorns blaring. What made it great was that we crashed a “spring event” that was happening from May 5-8. So a huge group of people waiting to enter an exclusive salon (Louis Vuitton) became an audience to our chants and message. Some people were aggressive, getting in our faces and yelling; one even grabbed a female activist. We stayed inside for about five minutes before leaving. We proceeded to chant outside, where mall security stayed to monitor us. They got the message.
